Dr Mikael Prytz is the head of the research area Networks at Ericsson Research, which focuses on 5G and beyond mobile network architectures, protocols, and concepts for radio, core, and fronthaul transport, and on programmable networks and network automation.
He has 20 years of experience in fixed and mobile communications research and engineering from Ericsson’s research and services units, as well as from international research programs, including EU projects Ambient Networks, E3, and QUASAR.
He holds a Ph.D. in optimization and systems theory from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and an MS in operations research from Stanford University in Palo Alto, in the US.
