Shaping the Ubiquitous, Transparent, and Tactile Wireless Network of the Futur
Leveraging the prior work on NSF Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR), DARPA Colosseum, Telecom Infra Project (TIP) 60GHz Channel Sounder, ARENA SDR testbed,Terahertz-band communication networks and Nanophotonic wireless communication, positions Northeastern University (NU) to accelerate scientific discovery that will shape 6G and Beyond Networks. This talk details the platforms and testbeds in the current US wireless ecosystem that are available as a tool for students and academics. We delve into specific focus areas shaping the 6G vision; especially around use of higher frequency bands, softwarization of networks, integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms in radio networks and application scenarios for private networks. The goal is to provide the audience with a compendium of research and development tasks and facilities of the future needed by the global academic and Industry community.
