Challenges and Opportunities related to Implementation and Trials of 5G for Verticals – a Regulatory Perspective
The operational and business environment is changing with introduction of 5G. Collaboration and networking is clearly a prerequisite for understanding the surroundings and trialling of new services in different societal sectors (verticals). Cooperative trials help understanding the opportunities and challenges related to introduction of new mobile communication services. They also give evidence on how business models, ecosystems and regulation should be developed. The challenges and opportunities of introduction of 5G in a Finnish and Nordic-Baltic context have been identified among others by the 5G Momentum ecosystem and the Nordic Council of Ministers. These will be outlined together with the spectrum regulatory situation.
